So as I'll be missing the Cordalene shows in February, unfortunately, I've been searching for local music elsewhere. As luck would have it, Pepper's Ghost played two shows tonight at The Point (and although it's right down the street from me, this was only my second time there - it's such a great venue). The posse and I originally planned to see both shows, but, as is usually the case with our plans, it didn't work out (we forgot to buy tickets). So we opted to see the second show.
As luck would have it, it was sold out. We stood outside in the cold for some time with about 13 other people, hoping that we'd be let in anyway. Robbie and Michael from Pepper's Ghost were kind enough to come outside and play for us a little, until the cold chased them back in. Luckily for us, with some persuasion from those on the inside, the cold folks on the street were let in.
This was the second (or technically third) PG show that I saw at The Point, and it did not disappoint. Justin Jones was wonderful. Pepper's Ghost was, of course, terrific. They played some of my favorite songs and (as usual) really got into it. I have to say though, I enjoyed the late October shows a little more. I think the sets were stronger then. But I can't complain!
A certain drummer from a certain other local band that starts with a "C" and ends with an "ordalene" was there. That was neat. I hope to see him on the stage rather than in the audience before too long.
So now that I've rambled on for a while...
Has anyone else seen any cool shows lately? Was anyone else there tonight (for either show)?
