Thanks for the info! We're working really hard to get the zine out before the Phantom Planet show on the 9th. You guys are all over it though. There's a pic of Mike on the cover, there's a review of 2 of your shows (cd release party and friday) and I think we're gonna try to email an interview to Jim sometime soon (hopefully tonight or tomorrow). I wish the website had more on it for people to see but we just dont have the time to update it so only the Home, Information and Staff links work so far. We're definitely going to give you guys a copy (and if we really love you, you'll get a color copy hahaha).
Also, how did your shows go last night? CT and NY in one night! Crazy what you can do with an extra hour.

no prob, i think we're gonna be selling it for $1.50 at shows. We're also planning to mail it out to anyone that wants it. Also, we aren't making any money off this! Right now we're making the copies out of our own pockets and from the few kind donations we've gotten. Whatever you decide to pay goes to making future copies. But you should definitely check it out - its gonna be our best issue yet!

Hey Lex,
So you were one of those cute girls talking to Jim ever so long in the lobby on Fri. It all comes together.
Yeah, the Lightning Song is the one you're thinking of. Laura, we might post a live version on our site (from the release show) since we won't have a studio version for a least a couple of months.
Can't wait to see the zine. If there's anything else you need to know, just write us.
thanks! -m

Hey Mike, Was wondering what you were calling the "Field of Emptiness" song, er "Never Seen the Sunrise", er.... ACK!!! Good grief. Have you settled on a name for that song? It's the one that goes slow, then real fast and heavy with a great guitar riff (sp?), then back to slow. Then finally builds and builds and builds towards the end to release this great giant burst of energy as a finale. You've been ending your sets with it lately. PLEASE GIVE ME A NAME TO CALL IT! Also, what's the name of the cover you guys just started doing (the first time was at Doc Watsons), which generally gets spun out of the end of "Would it Have Killed You"? You need to turn up Jamie's mike for that one, cause it's generally hard to hear him sing his bit on it, which is sad cause it sounds great (on the one occassion I could actually hear it clearly)! Anyways, missed the CT and NY shows, but the TLA show on Friday kicked ass! It looked like you guys were playing your hearts out that night, and it sounded great! Me and Drew (MAK) got some great pics of your hand. Kinda gory, and totally cool. There's some discussion over who got the better picture, but what's better than some friendly competition? So let me know about those two songs, especially the "Field of Emptiness" one, cause it's bugging the crap out of me - I haven't been able to talk to anyone about it since I don't even know what it's called!!! Thanks, and hope you've recovered from your weekend road trip! - Kim

Kim, the song is called "You Become So Bright"
Laura the refrain is:
I hope I'm killed by Lightning By a great flash of light from the sky That could not connect with the ground in anyway but through me.
I thought I should check this MB one more time today. -m

Yea that was us, Mike. I felt bad though, as soon as we got in the car I realized we didnt really get a chance to talk to the rest of you and left in a big hurry. Sorry, we didnt mean to ignore everyone - that definitely made me feel like an ass. (we did come out that night specifically to see you guys though) I'd love for you to put that song on your site! Any new music is great! Also Kim, I was wondering if you'd let us use that picture in the zine. that incident gets brief mention in the review (more to the effect that C got hit with some of Mike's blood...ewwww) but i've been thinking about how great it would be to have gotten a picture of it. maybe that's twisted, but the entire zine sorta is. We'd give your credit and all that good stuff so if your interested feel free to email us at either neatxneatxneat@hotmail.com or Gnosischick@aol.comLaura, you should definitely go to the Phantom Planet show so I can officially meet you haha. hey guys - great to see everyone this weekend - we had an intense weekend with 3 shows in 36 hours spread across 4 states... I posted some new stuff on the website, and soon there will be new live mp3s up at our page on mp3.com - I am putting up live versions of some songs from our North Star show... if you were there, check them out and give them a listen...
looking forward to playing on Halloween w/ our friends Army of Me, and totally psyched for Phantom Planet - their new single is awesome!

oh yeah, someone asked about the song we segue into sometimes after Would it Have Killed You?... it's called Itchycoo Park, and it was by Small Faces - an amazing english 60s rock band. It was their biggest hit, during the psychedelic era ("it's all too beautiful"), but they had other great tunes as well... think like the Who / Kinks / Stones era. If you check our mp3 page in a few days, you might be able to hear it for a limited time...

A color copy would be great. I think the copies are mostly going to be black and white but we print out a few colored. Thanks a bunch!
